I don't have to get up in the morning. I can stay in bed as long as I want. And I don't have to go to sleep any time soon either. I am very easily pleased.

Same for me.... I endured a week and a half of the flu :(
.... but now I'm back.... with renewed energy :D

Hopping of the walls these past 2 days :pac:

Dealt with my cold for around 4 days.

That has to be one of the most satisfying feelings ever, not having to get up for a certain time the next morning :D

The smell of a freshly mown lawn.

I'd be happy just to have been able to finally get it cut but the smell, and the tidiness, makes the effort worthwhile.

Finally plucked up the courage to address something I wanted to change in work, didn't think it would go down well at all even though it's a small thing (too much "soft" thinking...) But actually picked a moment where it was well received. Delighted!

Happy to be safe indoors as another roaring sodden gale echoes and rampages outside . Happy to watch my old cats, 13 years, wrestling and playing together in the hall, kitten fashion, a blur of long black and white fur. They have been doing this since they were in the womb.

    'Granda I made you a card...that's a dinosaur and a tiger"

Happy he explained, just as I was about to comment on the lovely giraffe and monkey.

Aren't grandkids great! my mam and dad adore theirs!

Is it true they've better than your own kids? (All the fun, zero responsibility)

They are an absolute treasure. The big thing is that you have more time for them than you had when your own children were small. There is the added advantage of being able to hand them back when you have tired them to crankiness. We love nothing more than having them visit and sleepovers are special treats for us all.
The happiness children, then grandchildren, bring to a life is immeasurable and everlasting. Not something we should ever take for granted.

    Edit: And Not Trivial!

Two neighbours called in at different times this evening. One, an elderly man, loves the home baking, the cosy fire, and the chat. The second has an interest in the same type of books as myself, and we blathered away for a good half hour.

An old school friend gave me a copy of a class photo from when we were 9 or 10. Everyone says I've never changed. Don't know whether to be TH that I'm not gone to rack and ruin, or TA that there hasn't been a massive improvement!

Elderly neighbour from last night has wife and daughters, but they don't bake. It's the simple things.

I did a face swap thing with a picture of my granny. There's not much change in my face at all. TH I look like my granny.
(TA I miss her so much)

The craic from some old friends I met in town. "Remember So and So....?" "What ever happened to that eejit who used to...?" A laugh does wonders for the soul.

My last assignment is .............................................IN!, a free woman now, after work," kids",o/h in another country, more job training, healthcare. BUT not a single deadline hanging over me.

If there was a flamenco dancer icon available, I would have rows and rows of them under this.

Sitting abed typing and my big cat has crept up the bed alongside. Seems t be asleep. Then he gazes soulfully into my eyes ,stretches out a soft white paw and rests it on my arm .Melts the heart!

The fabulous evening sunshine and the bright colours of the countryside out the window. Deep yellow of the whin bushes in flower and the fresh green of grass finally wakening to growth.

And full as a tick after a huge dinner.

My dog is the cutest. He would eat anything, including the carpet on the stairs and the curtains in the kitchen ffs :/:) but whenever we are having dinner, he always comes to me because he knows I'm weak and he has this cute, innocent look on his face that's so hard to resist :( We make sure not to feed him too much but I love every opportunity I have to give him a treat :)
